I was waiting for a user friendly and affordable 3D scanning solution for a while, until I came across Revopoint. I do a lot of small 3D design projects that often need to fit real world objects. The Revopoint POP 2 is a great tool to speed up this process, and in addition, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Installation was easy with the provided instructions, and soon I managed to get a fairly good scan of the test bust, once I got familiar with the app. After some minor cleaning up the meshed object in the provided Revo Studio software, the bust came out perfect on my 3D printer. The POP 2 is clearly meant for scanning bigger objects, but it does a pretty good job with smaller objects as well. I might get a Revopoint Mini in the future for scanning really small and detailed objects, but for now I'm very happy in exploring all the things I can do with the POP 2.

Been wanting this for a while, Had trouble with compound curve creation on a very objects I was trying to create in Inventor. This will get it done and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg!!

Finally go my scanner. Did the first scan of a human in a strange position (for 3d printing a 70cm human body) so the subject could not stay totally still. Had to scan parts and combine. (Trial and error approach) In the end I got excelent results. Had tried the same projectr with photogammetry scans, couldn´t complete the job, blurry and out of shape no matter what I did. - Highly reccomended as a basic scanning tool, unbeliavable quality in this price range.

it is certainly a good product, I recommend you to see several tutorials to be able to scan more easily because not everything is able to read perfectly; in any case to get good results you need to create a scan of the object inside a mini photographic set in order to set an opaque and uniform background ... otherwise it can go into conflict; the software is simple but you could make it smarter! ... I can't find a button or a section where you can download any program and / or firmware updates

My scanner needs were for industrial uses : something dimensionally accurate, but relatively low cost.
The POP 2 fitted the spec theoretically. On receiving the equipment, it took a while to get started (the only frustrating part was the request of a user key, which is done by requesting through a forum. This took too much time and needs to be improved). However despite the registration, I still give the scanner 5 stars, quite simply because it is excellent. Even on "quick scan" settings the dimensions are accurate to well under a millimeter - my scans are used as a starting point for CAD designs, so final dimensional corrections can be done easily.

The product and the software are very usable and all at a great price. Although my needs may not be the same as other customers, for my uses the scanner is perfect.

In the price range, you would be hard pressed to find a scanner that works as well as this one. I was looking for a scanner to reverse engineer and modify parts, and this one definitely fits the bill for medium to large size objects (I also backed the Mini for smaller items). In the attached photo(s) is a scan I did of a mount for a fruit picker which mounts on a pole pruner, I need to modify the "fingers" to be longer, that way it will fit on the pole that I have (not done yet). The bracket was black, so I coated it in baby powder (note: the artifacts on the bracket, which I believe are actually caused by the powder), and scanned it (three revolutions, one upright, one laying on side, and one upside down). Then processed them in RevoStudio to align and clean them up. For the use case, I think it will definitely work great.

I printed a case with a lid to it myself (the model is freely available on thingiverse.com ). Compact and quite fast, besides incredibly accurate. A little practice, and it turns out a very decent scanning option. Lightweight, mobile, and most importantly it has no competitors in this price niche. The main software is free and, I really hope, will continue to develop, although there are enough real opportunities to use it. But we will still wait for new, improved versions! An amazing gadget with huge potential that can help me solve a lot of practical problems. At the moment, I have made only a few attempts so far - in different modes and with different laptops/PCs/smartphones. I am very happy with the device.
I also hope for further support and development of the POP2 scanner (in the sense of related software).
PS: Unfortunately, I could not support the MINI project on Kickstarter due to restrictions and sanctions. So I'm waiting for the MINI to appear in shop.revopoint3d.com . Maybe I'll be able to find a payment method there.

Very strong case. Just dont understand why you guys made a space for the white statue, that space could be used for the light, but i still love it, is made with good material. Handy to Carry the scanner. I use it with my pop1.
