While scanning with Revopoint MINI 3D scanner by handheld mode, a possible problem might be the instability of some people. And the splicing error might occur with a slow and unstable scan. Then a handheld stabilizer is extremely needed in...
Great fidelity on the scans so far, I've used this to scan some car parts that are no longer made in order to 3d print a suitable replacement as well as a Solar Light Stake that was broken off. It captured the threads fantastically and allowed me to model the stake around it in only a few minutes savings tons of time trying to get the half-thread pitch and slope correct. End result was a 3d print that threaded in effortlessly, yet tightened down very snug when bottomed out. The AESUB Scanning Spray is a must have and works great too!
Just got my Mini and absolutely love it, couldn’t be happier with the quality and performance
MINI 3D Scanner（Blue Light丨Precision 0.02mm）
A 3D scanner to digitize my action figures collection with very good scan results - that was, what I was looking for and finally found.
I got the Revopoint MINI as a premium pack (incl. dual-axis turntable) on kickstarter. Actually, the blue light of the scanner & also the customs with shipment from China to Germany scared me a bit, since I already had bought a CR-Scan Lizard 3D scanner from Creality recently. But with the lizard, the scan results werent just great on my figure parts, cause it is intent to scan larger objects - just like the Revopoint POP2!
I'm very happy that I gave the MINI a chance. The Revo Scan software is also now able to control the dual-axis turntable via bluetooth and the software didnt crash for once. I scanned the revopoint figure with both scanners for comparison and look for yourself - I think the difference is very noticeable. For colored objects, however, youll need scan spray, like e.g. the AESUB blue, since colors absorb the projector light and therfore the scanner wouldnt recognize much.
At this point I also would like to give kudos to Revopoints great costumer service. All questions were answered very quickly and very friendly. Im looking forward to see if I can improve the scan quality just a little more with some practice. :-) Im sure the scans will get even better with the next Revo Scan updates . All in all, I am really very satisfied and it was worth every euro for me! :-)
The detail that this scanner captures is amazing. I would recommend the scanner to anyone that 3D prints.
I was sceptical at first, but the scans I've made have been incredible. I've had no luck with colour scans yet, but part of that is a settings game. That said, for my purposes, the detail is incredible, it's easy to use, and the scans have been spot on. It takes a bit of adjusting the gain to get the image just bright enough for a good scan without being overblown and losing detail, but once you do, scans are really easy to do on the turntable. I've had some difficulty scanning non-turntable items (handheld scanning and the like) because of loss of tracking, but that's somewhat expected. Disappointing, but expected. The mini is mostly made for super high detail, so scanning handheld is likely better with the POP2. I am quite pleased with this overall. It's going to drastically increase the abilities I have for my jewellery, making it easier to scan in sculpted components. Love it! The photo I'm posting is just a test image of a raw Lapis Lazuli stone, scanned in and then printed on an FDM printer at 300% (losing a lot of detail in the process because I scanned at 0.02mm but printed at 0.2mm layer height, but getting the overall shape). Incredible gadget.
The portable turntable will become a staple in my travel kit for my scanner. I wish the dual axis was as portable, but I think I'll be fine not having it when I travel. It is well made and spins at an adjustable speed either clockwise or counterclockwise. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this to anyone.
This scanner will give anyone a chance at the professional scene without spending the big bucks. The fealing you get when hooking it up and running that first scan and see incredible detail appear on the screen is amazing! Good luck with yours!
Very Good value for money! When compared to other professional scanners in this price segment, you cant beat it!
