Best POP 3 Accessories

POP 3 and all its powerful hardware can easily knock out accurate 3D scans, but did you know that it could be even faster and easier? That’s right, with the help of some of these accessories, you can level up your 3D scanning game to new heights.

So let’s get into it and take a look at the best POP 3 accessories.

Dual-axis Turntable

Getting a 3D scan is a lot easier with the help of a turntable, and there are few, if any, turntables better than the Dual-axis turntable when it comes to getting a 3D scan. What makes the turntable so worthwhile is its ±30° tilt which lets you easily angle objects closer to the scanner, so the scanner can get a clearer look at the item, allowing it to capture more of its surface in one rotation.

But that’s not all. It also has adjustable rotation speeds, supports up to 5kg in weight, and is controlled in Revo Scan or the Revo Control app on Android or iOS devices.

Markers

Though small and unassuming, these sticky little fellas are essential for capturing objects with flat, featureless surfaces that don’t have anything for POP 3 to track. You use them by sticking them onto the object’s surface or around it, depending on its size. When using them, ensure there are five or more markers per frame spaced at around 2cm to 4cm. Check out the image below if you’re wondering how to place them correctly.

Large Turntable

While POP 3 isn’t optimal for scanning large objects, that doesn’t mean you won’t occasionally want to scan a medium-sized heavy object. And this is where the Large Turntable comes into its own with its 200kg max weight and powerful motors that keep it spinning at full speed even at max weight. It comes with a handy remote control for easy control.

Scanning Spray

When dealing with shiny or extremely dark objects, scanning spray is essential for creating a micron-thin matte surface that POP 3 can see. Because without the object will either reflect or absorb too much light for the scanner to accurately capture it.

Even better, ASEUB Blue spray can be used on delicate equipment such as circuit boards as it doesn’t contain any pigment and will evaporate after 4 hours.

Mobile Kit

Sure, you can power POP 3 with any power bank you have on hand if it outputs at least 5 volts. But needing to hold the power bank in one hand while scanning is awkward and makes your hands unbalanced. The Power Bank Handle that comes with the mobile kit solves all this. It easily attaches to the POP 3’s base and operates as a handle while offering up to 4 hours of power for easy handheld indoor or outdoor scanning. mobile kit
